Overview and Gameplay
The Black Warriors kidnap Marian, sending Billy Lee through city streets, warehouses, caves, and the gang’s hideout. This Sega Genesis conversion follows the 1987 arcade game’s four-mission structure more closely than the redesigned NES version. Players move across belt-scrolling stages, defeat each enemy group, collect dropped weapons, avoid traps, and reach Willy, the machine-gun-wielding final boss.
Controls And Mechanics
- Combat: Punch, kick, jump, grab stunned enemies, deliver knees, and throw opponents.
- Special attacks: Reverse elbows, jumping reverse kicks, headbutts, and flying kicks expand the basic move set.
- Weapons: Bats, whips, knives, dynamite, barrels, boxes, and rocks can turn enemy attacks or stage objects into useful tools.
- Progression: Each mission has a time limit, environmental hazards, enemy waves, and a stage-ending confrontation.
- Multiplayer: Two players fight simultaneously as partners. After Willy is defeated, surviving players must duel each other for Marian.
Version Notes
This is the unlicensed Ballistic and Accolade conversion released for North American Genesis and European Mega Drive systems. It preserves simultaneous co-op and the arcade ending, but uses reduced graphics, animation, and sound compared with the coin-operated original.
