Overview and Gameplay
Billy and Jimmy Lee pursue the Black Shadow Warriors after Marian is attacked, fighting through nine missions filled with street gangs, military locations, traps, moving platforms, and powerful bosses. This NES adaptation reworks the 1988 arcade sequel with new stages, illustrated story scenes, expanded martial-arts moves, and a different final confrontation. Its combination of cinematic presentation, technical combat, and simultaneous co-op made it one of the NES library’s most respected brawlers.
Controls And Mechanics
- The directional pad moves, climbs ladders, and positions the player around enemies and hazards.
- A attacks toward the right, while B attacks toward the left. The button facing an enemy usually punches; the opposite button performs a rear kick.
- Press A and B together to jump. Careful timing enables the Spinning Cyclone, Hyper Uppercut, and High Jump Kick.
- Enemies may drop knives, pipes, whips, grenades, and incendiary bombs.
- Solo play and simultaneous two-player co-op are supported. Play A disables friendly fire, while Play B allows the brothers to damage each other.
Version Notes
This is the original North American PRG0 release. Practice ends after three missions, Warrior ends after Mission 8, and Supreme Master is required to reach Mission 9 and the complete ending.
