Overview and Gameplay
A blue hedgehog races through high-speed zones to stop Dr. Robotnik from turning animals into robots while collecting Chaos Emeralds hidden in special stages. Movement is built around momentum, rewarding careful timing and fast reactions as loops, ramps, and springs carry Sonic across multi-act levels ending in boss encounters.
The ring system replaces traditional health, allowing Sonic to survive hits as long as he has rings. Losing them on damage creates risk-reward tension during fast sections. Progression moves through themed zones with increasing hazard density and mechanical traps.
