Overview and Gameplay
Oscar is trapped inside a movie theater where four films become platform stages. As the cartoon star, the player enters themed movie worlds, collects hidden Oscar statues, and finds the clapperboard exit to clear each stage.
The game is a side-scrolling platformer from Flair Software, originally known from earlier Amiga and computer releases before this SNES conversion. Oscar jumps across hazards, avoids monsters, searches for collectibles, and uses a yo-yo when available.
Controls And Mechanics
- Oscar can run, jump, enter doors, and throw the yo-yo to defeat enemies or break certain walls.
- Health is shown with hearts, and losing all hearts costs a life.
- Power-ups include speed boots, a shield, wings, invisibility, spring shoes, and an alarm clock that freezes monsters.
- Collecting all BONUS letters opens a timed bonus stage.
