Overview and Gameplay

Three famous Toon Town treasures have been stolen, and Bonkers D. Bobcat takes the case while Lucky recovers. This SNES game is a side-scrolling Disney platformer built around police-themed cartoon stages, not the separate Sega Genesis game with the same license.

Bonkers searches locations such as a mansion, studios, neighborhoods, a cruise ship, underground areas, and Toon World. Play focuses on jumping through hazards, defeating enemies, collecting useful items, and reaching boss encounters tied to the stolen treasures.

Controls And Mechanics

  • Bonkers can move, duck, jump, dash, roll, and throw bombs.
  • The dash uses a meter that refills during play. When ready, it can damage enemies, break obstacles, and help Bonkers reach or enter special spaces.
  • Bombs are limited, while golden shields increase bomb capacity. Food and heart items help Bonkers survive longer stages.
  • The game is single-player only.

Version Notes

The Japanese Super Famicom version is titled Disney’s Bonkers: Hollywood Daisakusen! and is reported to include password support not found in the North American release.
