Overview and Gameplay
Shere Khan’s return sends Mowgli toward the safety of the man-village in Disney’s The Jungle Book. This SNES platformer follows the Disney film setting through jungle paths, tree villages, waterfalls, ruins, and boss encounters.
Mowgli runs, jumps, climbs, swings on vines, throws bananas, uses collected fruit weapons, gathers gems, and fights enemies such as Kaa, King Louie, and Shere Khan. The game has 11 levels, including auto-scrolling sequences and bonus-stage rewards.
Controls And Mechanics
- directions move, look up, crouch, climb, and aim banana shots.
- B jumps, with longer presses giving a higher jump.
- Y fires bananas, while A fires the selected fruit weapon.
- L and R cycle collected fruit weapons, and Start pauses.
- Hearts restore health, Baby Hathi marks checkpoints, green gems open bonus levels, and red gems can earn continues.
Version Notes
This is the Europe/PAL English SNES release, separate from the USA, Japan, and beta SNES builds and from the Genesis, NES, Game Boy, Game Gear, Master System, PC, and later GBA versions. It has no battery-backed save.
