Overview and Gameplay
Beast takes the lead in this SNES adaptation of Disney’s film, crossing castle rooms, forests, libraries, and story-based stages while trying to break the curse and face Gaston. The game is a side-scrolling action platformer built around careful jumps, enemy encounters, item use, and boss fights.
Controls And Mechanics
- Beast can jump, swipe enemies, duck, look around, and climb against some walls
- The roar can affect certain enemies and obstacles, opening a safer route through parts of a stage
- Stone blocks can be picked up and thrown in some areas
- A wilting rose adds time pressure during regular platforming sections
- The snowball scene changes the action by having Beast catch snowballs instead of fighting normally
Version Notes
This is the European SNES release, separate from the Genesis Beauty and the Beast games that use different designs and playable roles.
