Overview and Gameplay
RoboCop 4 sends RoboCop through five stages as OCP forces residents from Old Detroit to prepare the area for Delta City. The campaign moves through Cadillac Heights, the Rocket Motors factory, ruined streets, and OCP Tower.
Most stages use side-scrolling shooting and platforming. A gyropack sequence adds airborne movement and limited fuel, while the final level requires RoboCop to operate a computer terminal as robot ninjas attack.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves RoboCop, changes his aim, makes him duck, and operates doors or terminals. A fires the selected gun or missile, B jumps or provides gyropack thrust, and Select changes weapons.
Energy pods restore general energy, while separate damage affects RoboCop’s head, arms, body, and legs. Repair icons collected during a stage can restore individual body sections afterward. Limited-ammunition upgrades include rapid fire, spread shots, homing missiles, and explosive missiles.
Version Notes
This unlicensed release presents Probe Software’s NES game RoboCop 3 under the title RoboCop 4. It retains the five-stage campaign and mechanics of the original NES program.
