Overview and Gameplay
Metropia is under threat from Maximum Inc., and Kit Walker, the 24th Phantom, fights through a futuristic city built around branching routes and ecological danger. Phantom 2040 is a single-player action-adventure based on the animated series.
The game mixes side-scrolling combat with exploratory platforming. Players move between city sectors, defeat biots and bosses, collect weapons and upgrades, use passwords between chapters, and follow choices that can change scenes and ending variations.
Controls And Mechanics
- Run, jump, duck, climb, and use the Inductance Rope to reach platforms and cross gaps.
- Weapons include Energy Blast, Breaker, Homing Missile, Boomerang, Devastator, Spread, and Wave Gun.
- The screen tracks lives, spirit, energy, and two equipped weapon slots.
- Special powers include Invisibility, Armor, and Shadow Panther.
- This SNES version is single-player only.
Version Notes
- This is the European PAL SNES release.
- The PAL version uses summarized story presentation and includes a language-selection option for game text.
