Overview and Gameplay
Earth is under alien attack in 2090, and the Raiden fighter takes off to destroy enemy forces from the air. Raiden Densetsu is the Japanese Super Famicom version of the vertical arcade shooter known in the West as Raiden Trad, based on Seibu Kaihatsu’s 1990 arcade game.
Controls And Mechanics
- Shooting action: Move around the screen, fire at air and ground enemies, and use bombs when the screen becomes crowded.
- Power-ups: Red and blue weapon icons change the main shot, while bomb icons, score items, and one-up icons support longer runs.
- Penalty system: Losing a fighter removes collected weapon upgrades and returns the next ship to basic strength.
- Two-player mode: Two players can fight simultaneously as a cooperative pair of Raiden fighters.
Version Notes
