Overview and Gameplay
In 5069 A.D., Earth has been devastated by an alien invasion, and a Biomech cyborg is sent through five hostile realms to stop the threat. Realm is a late-era SNES side-scrolling action shooter with platforming, weapon switching, shield management, and frequent boss fights.
Controls And Mechanics
- Run-and-gun play: Move, crouch, jump, fire, and switch between collected weapons while crossing dangerous terrain.
- Aiming: The default controls allow standing aim so shots can be directed without moving forward.
- Weapons: Special weapons use limited energy and fall back to the default weapon when depleted.
- Survival: Shields, lives, score, and difficulty settings shape each run through the five themed levels.
Version Notes
This is the European PAL SNES release of Realm, published by Titus. The later DOS version used the alternate title Alien Terminator in some listings.
