Overview and Gameplay
Firebrand begins broken and betrayed after Phalanx steals the magical crests, sending the red gargoyle across the demon realm to recover his power. Capcom’s SNES action-platformer mixes stage combat with exploration, boss fights, world-map travel, shops, passwords, and ability-based revisits.
Players defeat enemies, collect coins, spells, potions, talismans, urns, and vellums, then use new crests and fire powers to open paths that were unreachable before.
Controls And Mechanics
- Firebrand can jump, hover in midair, cling to walls, attack with fire powers, and use magic or potions.
- New crests transform him into forms such as Ground Gargoyle, Aerial Gargoyle, Tidal Gargoyle, and Legendary Gargoyle.
- Fire attacks include powers such as Buster, Tornado, Claw, and Demon Fire, each useful in different situations.
- Progression depends on revisiting stages after gaining new forms and items.
- The game is single-player only.
