Overview and Gameplay
A young samurai follows the Demon King through time after his master is defeated. First Samurai is the European SNES version of Vivid Image’s computer action platformer, mixing sword combat, item use, climbing, jumping, and stage exploration.
Controls And Mechanics
- Fight with the magic sword, or punch and kick when the sword is lost after energy runs low.
- Collect food and sake for recovery, gather sword energy, and use bells, potions, and throwing weapons to solve stage obstacles.
- Stages combine enemy combat, hazards, vertical movement, and boss encounters.
- The game is single-player only, with no versus or co-op mode.
Version Notes
This is the European PAL SNES release. The original game first appeared on home computers before this Super Nintendo version.
