Overview and Gameplay
Count Champignac has been kidnapped by the robot villain Cyanida, leaving Spirou and Spip to cross city streets, rooftops, subway areas, caves, and jungle/swamp stages in a side-scrolling rescue mission. Spirou is a comic-based platformer with running, jumping, ducking, swimming, item collecting, and hazards built around robots and environmental traps.
Controls And Mechanics
- Platforming: Spirou jumps, swims, ducks, enters buildings and caves, and can perform a bigger jump for longer gaps.
- Tools: Champignac inventions include the Micropulser, used to shrink enemies, along with special story items used for progression.
- Survival: health bars, hearts, oxygen bottles, and extra lives from collecting 50 Spirou hats shape each run.
- Mode: single-player only, with no alternating, versus, simultaneous, or co-op multiplayer.
