Overview and Gameplay
After Chang’s plane crashes in the Himalayas, Tintin travels to Tibet with Snowy and Captain Haddock to search for his missing friend. This PAL SNES game adapts Hergé’s comic as a side-view platform adventure with timed stages, dialogue scenes, object use, swimming, climbing, and mountain hazards.
Controls And Mechanics
- Movement: guide Tintin through platforms, stairs, water, foreground and background paths, and tight hazards.
- Actions: jump, run, duck, crawl, speak to characters, pick up items, and use or throw objects.
- Special scenes: later stages include ice-axe climbing, rope movement, monastery tasks with drums and bells, and puzzle-like item handling.
- Progress: stages use a time limit, lives, a hit display, difficulty options, and passwords.
- Players: single-player only.
Version Notes
This is the European PAL SNES version. The M4 version is the multilingual release associated with English, French, German, and Dutch. European localized names include Tintin au Tibet and Tintin nel Tibet. It uses passwords and no special chip.
