Overview and Gameplay
Fictionalized world club teams replace national squads in Super Formation Soccer 96: World Club Edition, the final Super Famicom entry in Human Entertainment’s soccer series. Players enter Exhibition, World Club, Survival, and Option modes, using direct vertical soccer play with passing targets, shots, tackles, set pieces, fouls, injuries, offside rules, and penalty situations.
Controls And Mechanics
- Players move and aim passes, kicks, throws, keeper saves, and penalty shots in multiple directions.
- Attack uses passes, shots, clears, directional kicks, long passes, lobs, centering balls, and one-two passing.
- Defense includes sliding tackles, shoulder charges, goalkeeper actions, line shifts, and offside-trap play.
- Two players can play simultaneously in versus matches or cooperate on the same team.

This Japan-only World Club Edition focuses on fictional world club teams and is separate from the 1994 World Cup entries and the 1995 Serie A game.
