Overview and Gameplay
Ridley steals the last Metroid hatchling and leads Samus Aran back to Planet Zebes. Super Metroid is a landmark SNES exploration-action game built around connected areas, atmospheric discovery, boss fights, hidden routes, and upgrades that open new paths.
Controls And Mechanics
- Samus explores Zebes by jumping, dashing, aiming, firing beams, using missiles, and transforming with the Morphing Ball.
- Progress depends on finding upgrades such as missiles, super missiles, power bombs, energy tanks, suits, boots, Grappling Beam, X-Ray Scope, Space Jump, and Screw Attack.
- Map computers, save stations, and item icons support long-form exploration rather than a score-based stage structure.
- This is a single-player adventure.
