Overview and Gameplay
Tecmo Super Bowl brings Tecmo’s fast football formula to the USA SNES release with NFL teams, real players, preseason games, regular-season schedules, Pro Bowl play, stats, standings, substitutions, and player condition. The goal is to call the right plays, control key players on the field, and guide a team toward the Super Bowl.
Controls And Mechanics
- Choose run, pass, and dive plays from the play-selection screen.
- Control passing, rushing, kicking, receiving, tackling, touchbacks, substitutions, and playbook changes.
- Command windows support strategy choices such as punts, field goals, timeouts, and roster changes.
- Two players can compete head-to-head; it is not a co-op mode.

This page covers the USA SNES version from 1993. It is a 16-bit entry distinct from the 1991 NES game and from Tecmo Super Bowl II and Tecmo Super Bowl III.
