Overview and Gameplay
Spider-Man protects New York through a sequence of side-scrolling missions based on the film’s conflict with New Goblin, Sandman, Venom, and the alien symbiote. A map opens completed and available missions, while objective markers guide Spider-Man toward civilians, hazards, criminals, and boss encounters. Running, jumping, web-swinging, and surface-to-surface web zips support movement through multi-directional stages. Special moves unlock after key missions, and completed stages can be replayed to recover power-ups or revisit challenges.
Controls And Mechanics
A jumps and starts web-swinging in midair, B punches, L modifies kick attacks, and R controls web-line techniques such as Web Zip, Web Bind, and Web Pull. Health appears as green squares, while Spider-Sense warns of nearby attacks. Combat fills the Rage Meter; a full meter activates the black suit and its stronger move set until Spider-Man takes damage. Collectible power-ups improve health, melee damage, or web-capture duration. Losing all health ends the attempt.
Version Notes
This Game Boy Advance adaptation uses mission-based 2D stages, text-and-image story scenes, automatic move unlocks, and a Rage Meter-driven black suit. Electro appears as an additional villain alongside the film-based bosses.
