Overview and Gameplay
Spider-Man investigates a series of crimes across New York and discovers that Mysterio is directing the disturbances through illusion and hired villains. Seven side-scrolling stages include Downtown, Chemcorp, Pier 54, a nightclub, a museum, and an amusement park. Each location contains platforming routes, enemies, mission objectives, hidden equipment, and a boss encounter.
Three stages are initially available from the city map. Completing objectives unlocks later locations, while finished areas remain open for searches. Passwords shown on the inventory screen restore campaign progress.
Controls And Mechanics
Spider-Man runs, crouches, climbs walls, crawls across ceilings, wall-jumps, drops through platforms, and swings over gaps. A controls jumping and web swinging, while B performs punches and directional kicks. L fires Impact Web shots, R launches Capture Web, and both shoulder buttons create a frontal Web Shield.
Web attacks consume fluid from carried cartridges. First-aid kits restore health, armour absorbs damage, and hidden upgrades increase web capacity or reduce specific damage. Easy, Normal, and Super-Hero settings adjust lives, starting web supplies, enemy strength, and item hints.
