Overview and Gameplay
Summon Night: Swordcraft Story follows Cleru or Pratty, an apprentice Craftknight in Wystern, as they enter the tournament to become the next Craftlord of Iron. Each day includes town conversations, errands, Labyrinth exploration, weapon forging, tournament matches, and evening walks that affect later character scenes.
The main story descends to the fiftieth floor of the Labyrinth, while postgame play opens deeper floors, stronger enemies, additional techniques, and exhibition battles. Experience raises the protagonist’s level, and repeated weapon use improves TEC for that weapon type.
Controls And Mechanics
Exploration uses top-down movement, while battles take place in side-view arenas. A attacks and supports directional or charged moves; B activates the selected Guardian Beast command, spell, item, or guard action. L switches among up to three equipped weapons, and R cycles support commands.
Forging requires a learned technique and elemental materials. Swords, axes, spears, knuckles, and drills differ in reach, speed, and attack patterns. Weapon durability falls during combat, recovers after battle if the weapon survives, and destroys the weapon at zero. Breaking an eligible rival’s weapon can end the fight and award its forging technique. Link Mode supports simultaneous two-player versus battles and item trading.
