Overview and Gameplay
Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2 follows apprentice Craftknight Edgar or Aera as they protect the seal containing Goura. A chosen Guardian Beast assists during the eleven-day story, while evening events and companion choices influence later scenes and the ending.
Exploration takes place across Cliff Village, forests, caves, factories, and ruins. Random encounters open real-time side-view battles, and defeated enemies provide experience, money, items, Shapestones, and crafting materials. Five weapon families can be forged, upgraded, dismantled, and repaired. New Game Plus preserves selected progress, while postgame dungeons and challenge modes add stronger opponents and equipment.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves, runs, and jumps. A attacks in battle and interacts or uses field tools during exploration. B cancels or runs in the field and activates the selected support command in combat. L changes weapons, R cycles support commands, Start opens menus or pauses, and Select calls the Guardian Beast.
Swords, axes, spears, knuckles, and drills have distinct attack patterns and field functions. Weapons lose durability through use and must be repaired when broken. Guardian Beast magic, consumable items, guarding, charged attacks, alternate techniques, and Mono Shift provide additional combat options. Level-up points raise attack, defense, or agility.
