Overview and Gameplay
This compilation contains two separate card-battling RPG campaigns. The Sacred Cards follows a custom duelist through the Battle City tournament, where victories earn Locator Cards, money, and new cards. Reshef of Destruction continues the story as Yugi, Joey, and the player search for the missing Millennium Items and confront the Neo Ghouls.
Both campaigns use top-down exploration between duels. Story progress opens new districts and destinations, while Duelist Level and Deck Capacity determine which cards can enter a 40-card deck. Cards come from victories, shops, passwords, Ante rewards, and trading in Reshef of Destruction.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves the character and navigates cards or menus. A talks, examines, and confirms commands; B cancels actions and enables faster movement when held. L and R display card information or scroll card groups, while Start and Select open menus and sorting options.
Duels use monsters, Magic Cards, Traps, Rituals, terrain effects, and attribute relationships. Total card Cost cannot exceed Deck Capacity, and individual cards require a sufficient Duelist Level. Losing a duel ends the current attempt, while Reshef of Destruction also carries remaining Life Points between battles. Its Game Link Cable features support competitive Link Duels and card trading.
Version Notes
The cartridge presents The Sacred Cards and its sequel Reshef of Destruction as two separately saved games selected from one menu.
