Overview and Gameplay
In 2089, space soldiers Ricky and Mary board alien-infested ships to rescue captured humans before time runs out. This overhead action shooter adapts Sega’s 1987 arcade game with seven scrolling rounds, each ending in a boss battle.
Every ship holds 12 captives, and all must be freed before the boss exit opens. Contact with an alien or an expired timer costs a life, making route planning as important as accurate shooting. MAP panels reveal the ship layout and remaining prisoners.
Controls And Mechanics
- Move in eight directions with the directional pad and fire in the direction the character faces with B.
- Weapon panels provide flamethrowers, fireballs, lasers, warps, standard weapons, or bonus points.
- Start pauses or resumes play, while Select chooses the one-player or two-player mode.
- Two players can fight and rescue captives simultaneously as a cooperative team.
Version Notes
The Japanese Famicom edition includes an introductory sequence omitted from Tengen’s North American NES release. It was an officially licensed Sunsoft cartridge.
