Overview and Gameplay
Amateur adventurer Wynn enters the newly emerged island of Atlantis to find his missing master. This 1986 Sunsoft platformer connects roughly 100 timed zones through doors, warps, concealed passages, and misleading routes rather than a simple stage sequence.
Wynn must avoid enemies, pits, projectiles, and his own explosives. Most hazards cause an immediate death, while strict timers, limited lives, and deadly destinations such as Zone 42 make progress exceptionally punishing.
Controls And Mechanics
- Directions: Move, crouch, and adjust Wynn while airborne.
- A: Jump. Running momentum affects height and distance.
- B: Throw dynamite to defeat enemies, open doors, and reveal secret entrances.
- Start: Pause the game.
Treasure items can strengthen explosives or improve protection. There are no passwords or standard continues, so learning the island’s branching routes is essential.
Version Notes
This is the original Japan-only Famicom release. A planned Western adaptation titled Super Pitfall II was cancelled and is not the same retail version.
