Overview and Gameplay

Build a fictional baseball club, play exhibition games, or guide a team through a configurable league season. Baseball Stars II combines direct batting, pitching, baserunning, and fielding with roster management, player upgrades, statistics, and persistent pitcher fatigue. The NES release includes 12 preset teams, six custom-team slots, four stadium presentations, and seasons from one to 25 games.

Controls And Mechanics

  • Use the directional pad to move batters and fielders, select runners, aim throws, and shape pitches.
  • A handles swings, bunts with Down, pitch selection, throws to bases, and runner returns.
  • B controls leads, steals, pickoff attempts, tags, dives, and jumps.
  • Winning league games earns money for improving players or recruiting rookies, veterans, and stars.
  • Two players compete locally, switching offensive and defensive roles after each half-inning.

Version Notes

This North American NES sequel is separate from SNK’s Neo Geo and arcade game Baseball Stars 2. The in-game logo also uses the numeral styling Baseball Stars 2. Compared with the first NES game, it adds more stadiums and roster options but removes custom player and team naming.
