Overview and Gameplay
Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa follows the infant prince Upa after the demon Zai steals the adults’ dreams and kidnaps the babies of the Ruakuyo Kingdom. Armed with the Gāra-Sword, a magical rattle, Upa crosses seven worlds divided into 21 side-scrolling areas.
Striking an enemy inflates it like a balloon. Upa can stand on the floating enemy as a temporary platform or knock it into walls and other creatures. Each area must be completed before the timer expires while avoiding hazards and preserving health and reserve lives.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves Upa on land and in water. A jumps or swims, while B swings the rattle. Inflated enemies eventually burst and can rebound toward Upa after being launched.
Baby bottles restore one health unit, milk refills the health meter, and hearts increase maximum health. Bells grant temporary invincibility, while apples add points. Falling into a pit, losing all health, or running out of time costs a life. Continuing after game over restarts the current world.
Version Notes
This 1993 cartridge edition adds selectable Easy and Normal difficulty modes. Its music was rearranged for standard Famicom audio after the original 1988 Disk System release.
