Overview and Gameplay
Fatal Fury 2 presents one-on-one fighting matches with five distinct character designs: Terry, Andy, Kim, Cheng, and Mai. Each fighter also has a separately named recolored counterpart, creating ten selectable names. Single-player mode sends the chosen fighter through computer-controlled opponents, while versus mode allows two players to compete directly. A match ends after one fighter wins two rounds.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves the fighter and supplies directional inputs for special attacks. A performs punches, B performs kicks, and combinations using a direction with A and B trigger special techniques. Life bars, a round timer, score totals, and win markers track each bout. Two-player matches run simultaneously on the same screen.
Version Notes
This unlicensed Famicom/NES adaptation converts the source material into single-plane battles. Its roster uses five base fighter designs with named palette variants, and the combat system omits the source game’s POW meter and desperation attacks.
