Overview and Gameplay
A special operative must stop Sheik Toxic Moron from deploying the TechnoScorch arsenal. Laser Invasion combines three distinct styles across four missions: first-person helicopter combat, automatically scrolling shooting sequences, and maze-like enemy bases explored from a first-person view.
Players fly between installations, manage fuel and damage, select missile loads and support equipment, land at hostile bases, gather mission items, and escape before timed objectives expire. Friendly heliports restore fuel, ammunition, and helicopter damage.
Controls And Mechanics
- Directional controls steer the helicopter, aim during shooting sections, and move or turn inside bases.
- The helicopter can brake into a hover, fire its Vulcan cannon, launch guided missiles, and deploy equipment such as bombs, chaff, or extra fuel.
- Ground battles use limited ammunition, while crates can reveal bullets or health-restoring hearts.
- Base exploration includes mapped corridors, locked doors, enemy encounters, access cards, keys, rations, and mission intelligence.
- This is a single-player game with no cooperative or competitive mode.
Version Notes
The Japanese release was titled Gun Sight. The North American edition removes its password option, provides five continues, and allows three, four, or five starting lives. It also supports the Konami LaserScope during shooting sections.
