Overview and Gameplay
IMF agents are deployed after a high-stakes abduction pulls them into a multi-location operation spanning urban streets, industrial zones, and fortified enemy facilities. The mission focuses on rescuing key hostages while dismantling the Sinister Seven network across a sequence of large, hazard-filled areas.
Players switch between three specialized operatives, each bringing distinct combat tools and utility options. Progress depends on exploration, recovering key items, unlocking restricted paths, and surviving heavily trapped environments with enemy patrols and environmental dangers.
Controls And Mechanics
- Movement through overhead and side-scrolling environments
- Character swapping to match abilities to specific situations
- Short and limited special attacks depending on the selected agent
- Use of items such as explosives, disguises, and non-lethal tools
- Stage hazards including traps, hazards, and instant-fail obstacles
Some stages introduce vehicle or traversal segments that change attack behavior and pacing, requiring timing and positional awareness rather than constant combat.
Version Notes
The U.S. release was published under Ultra Games, Konami’s North American label, with a European release later distributed under Palcom. Both versions share the same core gameplay structure and mission layout.
