Overview and Gameplay
A shifting grid fills with pre-shaped pipe segments as liquid begins to flow, and the goal is to construct a continuous route that keeps it moving long enough to meet stage requirements before it spills out.
Each round presents a stream of random pipe pieces that must be placed immediately onto the board. The liquid then travels through connected paths, rewarding careful planning and quick placement under pressure. Later stages introduce hazards and special tiles that alter flow speed or routing behavior, increasing complexity as the required distance grows.
Controls And Mechanics
- Place incoming pipe pieces directly onto open grid spaces
- Connect paths to form continuous routes for the flowing liquid
- Meet required travel distance before the liquid reaches an exit
- Use special tiles that can modify speed, routing, or scoring opportunities
- Two players can participate simultaneously on the same board, building and competing through shared space and scoring interactions
Version Notes
This version is the USA NES adaptation of the original Pipe Mania concept, reworked for console play with adjusted pacing, interface, and scoring structure compared to computer releases.
