Overview and Gameplay

Rockman 7 follows Rockman as he battles eight Robot Masters controlled by Mr. X, then attacks the fortresses behind the tournament plot. The initial stages can be selected in any order, and each defeated boss grants a special weapon that can exploit another enemy’s weakness.

Several stages contain alternate routes leading to the B, E, A, and T circuit plates. Collecting all four activates Beat, an automated bird that attacks nearby enemies. Power Rockman breaks guarded enemies and cracked blocks with charged punches, while Jet Rockman provides limited upward flight.

Controls And Mechanics

The directional pad moves, crouches, climbs, and navigates menus. A jumps and performs a slide with Down, while B fires the selected weapon and charges the normal arm cannon. Start opens the weapon screen, and Select pauses or restores health when used with Up.

Health capsules, weapon-energy capsules, reserve tanks, and extra lives appear throughout the stages. Passwords record defeated bosses and major equipment. This pirate version begins with additional lives and includes the health-restoration command.

Version Notes

This unlicensed NES release changes the title identity of the Japanese Rockman 6 program to Rockman 7. It retains the original stages, Robot Masters, weapons, Rush adapters, Japanese text, and fortress progression while adding six starting lives and the Up-plus-Select recovery command.
