Overview and Gameplay

A compact board-based strategy duel unfolds around Spot, the 7 Up mascot, where every move reshapes control of a 7 by 7 grid. Players start from corner positions and spread influence by cloning or jumping across the board, aiming to outnumber opponents when the grid fills or eliminate their presence entirely.

Each placement is a tactical choice, since new pieces appear by duplicating adjacent positions or leaping farther distances, followed by flipping nearby opposing pieces. The flow is turn-based, with up to four competitors sharing the same battlefield in alternating turns.

Custom boards, preset layouts, and adjustable CPU difficulty create varied match setups, while special bonus tiles can trigger random effects that shift momentum during play.

Controls And Mechanics

  • Turn-based movement across a grid using a cursor system
  • Piece actions include cloning to adjacent spaces or jumping to distant spaces
  • Captured pieces convert to the active player after each move
  • Matches support human and CPU opponents in alternating turns
  • Up to four players compete in the same match by taking turns

Version Notes

The US release presents the game under the 7 Up branding with the Spot mascot as the central piece. A Japanese release later appeared under a slightly different title and publisher arrangement.
