Overview and Gameplay
Super Aladdin follows Aladdin through four side-scrolling stages based on Agrabah and the surrounding desert. The campaign moves from the market to a desert search, rooftop action, and an automatically scrolling magic-carpet stage called Rugrid.
Objectives change between stages. The Desert requires both scarab halves, while Agrabah Rooftops uses rope-flute items to open the route to a Captain boss encounter.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves Aladdin, and the action buttons control jumping and sword attacks. Apples provide a limited ranged attack, while the Select button throws them. The status display tracks lives, energy, apples, and red crystals.
A floating Genie-face item activates a between-stage bonus sequence that awards a random item. Falling, losing all energy, or colliding with hazards can cost a life.
Version Notes
This unlicensed Famicom and NES adaptation condenses the Mega Drive design into four stages. The common Super Aladdin revision changes colors, removes material from an earlier build, and substitutes several graphics with artwork based on the Mega Drive version of Prince of Persia.
