Overview and Gameplay
Super Mario Bros. / Tetris / Nintendo World Cup opens with a menu for three NES games. Super Mario Bros. sends Mario through eight worlds of timed platform stages to rescue Princess Toadstool. Tetris challenges the player to arrange falling pieces into complete horizontal lines through endurance-focused A-Type and 25-line B-Type modes. Nintendo World Cup features 13 national teams, a tournament against computer opponents, and standalone matches with selectable field conditions.
Controls And Mechanics
In Super Mario Bros., the D-pad moves Mario, A jumps, and B runs or throws fireballs. Mushrooms enlarge Mario, Stars grant temporary invincibility, and collecting 100 coins awards an extra life. Two-player mode alternates turns between Mario and Luigi.
In Tetris, the D-pad moves and accelerates pieces, while A and B rotate them in opposite directions. Completed lines disappear, levels increase the falling speed, and the round ends when blocks reach the top.
Nintendo World Cup uses A for passing and tackling and B for shooting and sliding attacks. Tournament mode supports two-player cooperation, while Match mode supports competitive games for up to four participants with a multiplayer adapter.
