Overview and Gameplay
Dr. Turner kidnaps Dino and Hoppy for a future zoo, leaving Fred to recover the pieces of the Great Gazoo’s time machine. Eight side-scrolling stages lead through Bedrock, icy villages, jungles, caves, water routes, and the future. An overworld map opens after the first stage and allows Fred to choose routes toward the remaining machine parts.
Basketball challenges against Hard-Head Harry award temporary traversal abilities, including flight, long-gap jumping with Hoppy, and underwater movement.
Controls And Mechanics
Fred attacks with a permanent club that can be charged for a stronger swing. He can jump, crouch, climb, grab ledges, and use catapults or other stage devices. Collected coins power secondary weapons such as the slingshot, axe, and explosive Boomasaurus Egg.
Hearts restore health, Cactus Coolers extend the health meter, Bronto Burgers increase maximum club strength, and Fred portraits grant extra lives. The Gazoo menu stores earned traversal abilities for use during stages.
