Overview and Gameplay

Link returns in a stranger, tougher sequel built around side-scrolling sword combat, an overworld map, towns, magic, and experience levels. After discovering a mark on his hand, Link must recover the Triforce of Courage and wake Princess Zelda from an enchanted sleep.

The game stands apart from the first Zelda by mixing action, platforming, and RPG progression. Link explores Hyrule, enters palaces, learns spells and sword techniques, gains experience from enemies, and raises Attack, Magic, and Life levels.

Controls And Mechanics

  • Move across the overworld and through side-view areas, entering towns, caves, palaces, and encounters.
  • Use the sword and shield in side-view combat, with stance and position affecting defense.
  • Jumping is central to palace navigation and combat spacing.
  • Magic spells consume magic power and become more efficient as the Magic level rises.
  • Experience points can improve Attack, Magic, or Life, giving the sequel a clear RPG structure.
  • This is a single-player adventure.
