Overview and Gameplay

Running a global airline is the whole challenge: choose routes, buy aircraft, negotiate airport slots, and compete against rival companies across decades of travel history. Aerobiz is Koei’s SNES airline management simulation, localized from the Japanese Super Famicom game Air Management: Oozora ni Kakeru.

Each turn covers three months. The goal is to connect 22 cities, keep the company profitable, and carry enough passengers before the scenario deadline. Success depends on smart route planning, aircraft choice, fares, service, repair budgets, advertising, branch offices, and reactions to strikes or world events.

Controls And Mechanics

  • Gameplay is menu-driven, with a cursor used to choose map locations, commands, reports, and company options.
  • Routes require airport slots, available aircraft, and enough capital to operate them.
  • Budgets affect safety, passenger appeal, and company performance over time.
  • The game supports hot-seat competition, with players taking turns managing rival airlines.

Version Notes

  • The USA title is Aerobiz.
  • The Japanese Super Famicom title is Air Management: Oozora ni Kakeru.
