Overview and Gameplay
An entire planet becomes the simulation board in SimEarth: The Living Planet, the SNES adaptation of Maxis’s life-and-environment strategy game. The player guides climate, land, oceans, life forms, and civilizations across scenarios such as Cambrian Earth, Mars, Venus, Dune, and Earth 2XXX.
Controls And Mechanics
- Play is built around a cursor, command windows, Edit Mode, and Map Mode.
- The player spends limited energy to alter planetary conditions, support life, and respond to environmental problems.
- Scenarios and random planets give different starting conditions and long-term goals, including advanced life reaching Exodus.
- This SNES version is single-player.
Version Notes
