Overview and Gameplay
In 1522, the Age of Exploration opens six different lives at sea. Uncharted Waters: New Horizons lets the player choose a captain with a separate story, then build fame through trade, adventure, piracy, discovery, and naval command.
The campaign is open-ended: sail between more than 130 destinations, buy and sell goods, recruit mates and crew, build or purchase ships, accept guild work, report discoveries, and deal with rival fleets or pirates.
Controls And Mechanics
- Most actions use menu commands in ports, shops, guilds, palaces, shipyards, and at sea.
- Fleets require food, water, crew assignment, repairs, cargo space, and ship upgrades.
- Fame is divided into trade, piracy, and adventure, shaping progress and story goals.
- Naval battles use tactical movement, wind direction, ship positions, and combat orders.
- This SNES version is single-player only.
