Overview and Gameplay
A black ant colony becomes the player’s command project in SimAnt, the SNES adaptation of Maxis’s ant-colony simulation. The goal is to gather food, dig tunnels, grow the colony, defeat red ants, and eventually spread through the yard and house.
Controls And Mechanics
- Full Game, Scenario Game, and Tutorial modes structure the simulation.
- The Yellow Ant is directed through cursor-based commands for movement, digging, carrying food or eggs, and interacting with the colony.
- Worker, soldier, and breeder ants support expansion, while spiders, ant lions, human feet, and lawn mowers create hazards.
- The game uses close-up and overview screens, with no verified two-player mode.
