Overview and Gameplay

Contenders face TV-show Gladiators in a series of short competitive events based on the American Gladiators license. The SNES version turns the show into a sports game built around scoring points in Assault, Human Cannonball, Atlasphere, Joust, Powerball, The Wall, and The Eliminator.

Each event has its own rules and viewpoint. Players dodge fire, swing into Gladiators, roll in metal spheres, climb walls, collect balls, or race through an obstacle course. Success comes from timing, quick inputs, and learning how each event scores.

Controls And Mechanics

  • Events use different actions, including aiming, firing, climbing, sprinting, swinging, dodging, picking up weapons, and placing balls.
  • Assault, Joust, Powerball, The Wall, Atlasphere, Human Cannonball, and The Eliminator all have separate control behavior.
  • One-to-One mode pits one player against a computer opponent.
  • Tournament play supports competitive play, with entrants advancing through brackets.

Version Notes

  • This is the USA SNES version, with no separate European or Japanese SNES release identified.
  • The SNES game is a later version of a license that also appeared on other platforms.
