Overview and Gameplay
Billy and Jimmy Lee leave the side-scrolling beat-’em-up format for a one-on-one fighting game based on the Double Dragon animated series. The Shadow Master threatens the world, and the roster battles through tournament-style fights.
Matches use a six-button fighting setup with light, medium, and hard punches and kicks. Modes include tournament play, versus battles, quest mode, battle demo, character dossiers, and options for difficulty, time limit, continues, sound, and custom controls.
Controls And Mechanics
- Characters can advance, jump, crouch, defend, attack, and use throws at close range.
- Each fighter has special moves and finishing attacks tied to the cartoon-based roster.
- The default layout uses separate buttons for three punch strengths and three kick strengths.
- Two-player mode is direct versus fighting, not co-op.
Version Notes
This is the European PAL SNES release. It is a versus fighting game, separate from the earlier arcade-style Double Dragon beat-’em-ups.
