Overview and Gameplay
Four stolen crystals throw the world out of balance, sending Benjamin across towns, dungeons, and battlefields to restore Earth, Water, Fire, and Wind. This European SNES title is the PAL version of Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest, built as a streamlined RPG with clear routes and accessible turn-based battles.
Controls And Mechanics
- The world map uses connected icons for towns, dungeons, and fixed battle areas instead of free roaming.
- Enemies are visible in dungeons, and battles use simple menu commands such as attacks, spells, items, and defense.
- Benjamin usually travels with one companion, who can be handled manually or set to automatic battle behavior.
- Weapons also work as tools outside battle, letting Benjamin jump, break obstacles, or interact with dungeon paths.
- The game is single-player only.
Version Notes
This is the European PAL release, titled Mystic Quest Legend. The same SNES game was released in North America as Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest and in Japan as Final Fantasy USA: Mystic Quest.
