Overview and Gameplay
A paperboy or papergirl rides through a hazardous suburban route, delivering newspapers while avoiding traffic, strange neighbors, animals, and street obstacles. Paperboy 2 is the SNES version of the home-system sequel to Atari’s original arcade hit.
The main change from the first game is delivery on both sides of the street. Each week has subscriber and non-subscriber houses, and accurate deliveries keep customers on the route. Missed papers lose subscribers, while perfect days can win them back. Bonus training courses appear after each day.
Controls And Mechanics
- Riding: control speed and position while weaving through the neighborhood.
- Throwing papers: papers can be thrown left or right to hit mailboxes, doors, targets, or hazards.
- Scoring: points come from successful deliveries, good deeds, targets, and bonus-course breakage.
- Progression: three weeks raise the difficulty with larger houses and busier routes.
- Two-player mode: players alternate main-route turns, with both appearing together in bonus rounds.
