Overview and Gameplay
Rise of the Phoenix turns the struggle after China’s Qin dynasty into a turn-based strategy campaign between Liu Bang, Xiang Yu, and rival rulers. The goal is to conquer China by defeating or absorbing every opposing power.
Four scenarios change the starting situation, allies, and territory. Each month moves through command phases for army movement, attacks, city planning, supplies, gold, recruitment, and diplomacy.
Controls And Mechanics
- Commands are selected through cursor-driven menus on the map and battle screens.
- Move phases handle divisions, marching, and attacks; Plan phases handle broader city and army management.
- Field battles and city sieges include attacks, arrows, duels, resting, fleeing, and siege actions.
- Two-player mode is head-to-head strategy, with each player controlling a rival side rather than working cooperatively.
