Overview and Gameplay
Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World brings five Mario platform games together: Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, and Super Mario World.
The All-Stars games use upgraded 16-bit graphics, sound, and save support, while Super Mario World adds Dinosaur Land, Yoshi, Cape Mario, secret exits, Ghost Houses, Switch Palaces, and map exploration.
Controls And Mechanics
- Directions move characters, select menus, crouch, climb, enter doors and pipes, and move on maps.
- Y and X run, shoot fireballs, pick up or throw items, and handle Yoshi actions in Super Mario World.
- B and A jump, swim, fly, spin jump, or dismount Yoshi depending on the game.
- Two-player play is mostly alternating, with Super Mario Bros. 3 also offering Battle Mode.
Version Notes
This is the European PAL release of the five-game compilation, not the earlier four-game Super Mario All-Stars. The combined version was not released in Japan, and Luigi has revised sprites in Super Mario World.
