Overview and Gameplay
Dreams and reality collide in Subcon, a world overtaken by Wart and his minions. Four heroes step into this strange land, each stage asking you to rethink how platforming works: instead of jumping on enemies to defeat them, they are grabbed, carried, and thrown. Vegetables, keys, and blocks become tools for clearing paths and uncovering hidden routes across seven worlds filled with multi-layered stages and boss encounters.
Progression is built around completing each area and reaching Wart at the end of the journey. Each character brings a distinct movement style, encouraging experimentation and route changes across repeated attempts.
Controls And Mechanics
- Movement focuses on navigating platforms, ladders, and vertical routes across complex stage layouts
- Jumping allows traversal gaps and avoidance of enemies, with unique character jump behaviors affecting height and control
- Objects and enemies can be picked up, carried, and thrown to defeat obstacles or reveal secrets
- Special potions open access to Sub-space, where coins and items can be collected for extra rewards
- Characters differ in movement traits such as jump height, speed, and object handling

- Based on a reworked version of Doki Doki Panic, adapted for the Super Mario series outside Japan
