Overview and Gameplay
A lone plumber sets out across the Mushroom Kingdom, moving through ground, underground, underwater, and castle stages to stop the Koopa ruler and rescue the princess. Each world is structured into tightly designed side-scrolling stages filled with enemies, hazards, hidden blocks, and time limits that push steady forward movement and precision jumps. Progression moves across eight worlds, with castle stages marking key points of advancement.
Power-ups change how each stage plays. Mushrooms increase durability, allowing Mario to survive one hit. Fire Flowers introduce ranged attacks through fireballs, while invincibility stars briefly remove most threats on contact. Coins, hidden areas, and warp zones reward exploration beyond the main path.
Controls And Mechanics
