Overview and Gameplay
Cress Albane’s ruined village leads into a time-spanning conflict with Dhaos, the World Tree, and allies from different eras. Tales of Phantasia is the original Super Famicom entry and the first game in the long-running Tales series, combining town exploration, dungeons, equipment, magic, party growth, and real-time battles.
Controls And Mechanics
- The Linear Motion Battle System places combat on a horizontal field, with the player directly controlling Cress while allies follow tactics and spell commands.
- Slash attacks, thrust attacks, special techniques, TP, items, formations, and battle menu commands shape each encounter.
- L and R can be used at the battle edge to attempt escape.
- This version is single-player only.
